Clashes
have erupted on the server Sunday 20.09.09 after RPG troops moved to take control
of a town, officials and residents said.
Piet Skiet, a local resident, told the news agency he had
seen two dead bodies on the street and that at least four people,
including a RPG officer, had been wounded in the fighting on Monday.
"RPG troops are in everywhere in town this morning. The other forces fled after brief clashes," Piet said.
"It is calm now, but we are afraid that there will be more fighting."
Jack Flap, near the =(MOD)=. border, has changed hands several times in recent months.
It was a stronghold of =(MOD)=. fighters until last month
when residents said RPG forces in armoured vehicles moved in to
chase out the fighters. =(MOD)=. returned after the RPG had
pulled out.
SABoertjie, a senior military official, apparently confirmed to a news group that the server was in RPG control again on Monday.
